How does Santa Barbara Tea Club work?

It’s simple. You choose one of our three amazing tea boxes, we pack the box with fresh tea and some extra goodies, and then we ship it to you each month. Easy.

Is there a fee to join?

Nope. No fees. You only pay for what we ship you.

When will I receive my tea box?

Your tea box is shipped near the 15th of each month. Shipping can normally take between 2 to 6 days within the U.S..

Is there a monthly deadline for subscribing?

Yes. The 11th day of each month is the cut off date to have it shipped near the 15th. If you started your subscription on the 11th of the month or later you will receive your first box of tea in the following month’s delivery.

When will I be billed?

You will be billed on the last day of each month .

What bonus tea sample will I receive?

We carefully select a tea that is different from what is included in your monthly box. It’s a great way to discover new and exciting flavors and occasionally indulge in a limited batch tea that is only available to our subscribers.

How is this different than other tea subscription boxes?

Perhaps our ​customer reviews​ can answer that better than we can.

How much loose leaf tea do I get each month?

That depends on the the tea box you choose. The I LIKE box includes 60 grams (2.1 oz). The I LOVE box includes 100 grams (3.5 oz). The I LIVE box includes 120 grams (4.2 oz). And that’s not counting the bonus samples that we tease you with.

Can I get a caffeine free tea box each month?

No. But you can substitute one regular tea item for a non-caffeine herbal at the customization page. We specialize in tea (Camellia sinensus), all of which has various amounts of caffeine.

I need tea immediately. Do I have to wait for the tea box to get started?

SHOP THE TEA BAR​ and select the teas you want. We will hand pack them and ship right away. Get your kettle boiling.

Can I give a tea subscription or one-time box of tea as a gift?

Yes! Select ​ GIVE A GIFT ​ at the top of our page and select whether would like to give an electronic gift card or have a subscription delivered to your giftee. Write us a note or call us with any special requests.

What is SHOP THE TEA BAR?

Our Tea Bar allows you to browse a large variety of special tea and receive products outside your scheduled, recurring shipments. Select your products from ​ SHOP THE TEA BAR ​ and check out. You’re order will arrive in no time.

How should I store my tea?

Your tea arrives in biodegradable hermetically sealed zipper pouches that are perfect for storage. Just be sure to carefully reseal your pouch after opening, and keep it stored at room temperature. Do not refrigerate or freeze your loose leaf tea pouches unless they are going to be unopened for more than 6 months.

What’s the return/exchange policy?

If at anytime you are unhappy with our tea, just send it back within 30 days of receiving it and we will issue a full refund, less shipping. Please ​contact us​ via email PRIOR to returning the product. We do not exchange tea but will do everything possible to make things right with you.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. We would hate to see you go. Just log in to your account . We hope you’ll stay but we don’t make it hard to leave. Friends by tea, friends for life.

What about shipping, fees, and taxes?

Shipping is based on location and weight. We pass along our shipping discount to you, and we try to keep our boxes as light as possible. We only charge sales tax for customers located in California (sorry!), and we do not charge VAT or any other added taxes for our international customers. If taxes/import fees are assessed, please be aware that they are the customer's responsibility.

What payment options do I have?

We accept all major credit cards. If you have any issue with payment please email us we will try to help.

Can I pay over the phone?

No. We only accept major credit and debit cards at this time. If you’re having trouble signing up online, contact us and we’ll help you out.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Just log in to your account and reset your account password.

How do I change my shipping address?

Just log in to your account and edit your delivery details.

How do I update my payment information?

Just log in to your account and edit your payment details.

Where do you ship to?

We ship across the entire USA and Canada! Canada shipments typically take a bit longer to arrive.

Help! My tea hasn't arrived!

Please email us immediately and confirm the address you were expecting it to be sent to. We use USPS shipping so if you've given us the correct address your tea should arrive promptly. We’ll do everything we can to keep you stocked with the you love most.
